Electronic Regulators

Featuring a lightweight design, the ITV electronic pressure regulator uses an electronic input signal and provides precise air pressure control proportional to the electrical input signal. It also incorporates in analog or switched output for feedback as well as in easy to read LED display. Two sizes are currently available to meet different flow requirements.

Series ITVX2000 high pressure electro-pneumatic regulator provides stepless control of air pressure to an electrical signal.  They have an easy to read digital pressure display and a power consumption of 3 W or less. The new series has a 5.0 MPa maximum supply pressure.

Series ITV electro-pneumatic and electronic vacuum regulators control air/vacuum pressure steplessly in proportion to an electric signal. They are light weight in design with a bright and easy to read LED display. The monitor output is available either as analog output or switch output. The ITV series is IP65 equivalent.

A hybrid regulator is created from a regulator and a solenoid valve with the electro-pneumatic regulator Series VY1. A maximum effective area of 670mm² (2B) can be covered by the combination of an ultra-compact electro-pneumatic pilot valve (22.4 X 30 X 39) and a 3 port, high-capacity exhaust main regulator (VEX1*00 series). Having the amplifier built into the electro-pneumatic pilot valve, only an external (24V DC) power supply and (1 to 5V DC) signal voltage need to be connected making handling simple. Using the VVEXB/2/4 series, a maximum 10 station manifold is possible.

Electro-pneumatic regulator series IT has a variation for each output flow rate. In addition to the existing conduit entry, a DIN connector is available. A dedicated exhaust port (M5) is installed to remove air from the nozzle. The IT series comes with monitor signal output and shock/ vibration resistance.

Series IC, controller for electro-pneumatic regulator converts digital input signal into analog output signal. It has a maximum 10 bit parallel input signal and a 4 point preset output pressure. This series is mainly used in combination with the series ITV0000 w/o a display function.

PVQ series, compact proportional solenoid valve, was designed by SMC with a direct poppet construction.  This construction enables low leakage, while de-energized.  PVQ series has been used in applications such as air blow, flow control, hand piece control for dental unit and other respiratory equipment, as well as, cooling for laser machinery etc.

A proportional control valve system provides the ability to infinitely control the position of the internal spool assembly which increases or decreases the amount of flow or pressure being released from the valve. SMC offers 2 types of proportional control valves, a pressure type VEP which controls secondary pressure by varying the current through the solenoid, and a flow rate type VEF which controls air flow by varying current through the solenoid.

The 5 port electro-pneumatic proportional valve, Series VER can be used to switch and actuate a cylinder and to perform stepless pressure control of port A through electric signals.  The VER2000 (direct operated type) is available with 1/4 or 3/8 port size.  The VER4000 (internal pilot type) and the VER4001 (external pilot type) are available with 3/8, 1/2 or 3/4 port size.  Thread types include Rc, G, NPT or NPTF.  The VER is also available without a sub-plate.

Pressure Switches

The SMC digital pressure switch series has been designed to meet the diverse needs of our customer base. Various options include IP65 protection, 2 color display, fluid switch, stainless construction, and high purity options. A compact size option also exists. Applications for digital pressure switches include areas such as positioning, leakage testing, and supply pressure verification.

ZSE10/ISE10 compact, digital pressure switch has been reduced in height by approximately 50% when compared to the I/ZSE30A.  Up to 10 slave sensors can be set at once using the copy settings function.  Options include direct mount, panel mount or DIN rail mount, and a choice of 2 piping directions.

Series ISE30A high precision digital pressure switch (for positive pressure) with two color digital display allows you to choose the setting according to your application requirements. 4 different display settings are available. Abnormal conditions can be detected at a glance.

imageThe ISE40A series is a high precision digital pressure switch, providing improved functions, performance and variations over the previous ISE40 series.  Abnormal values can be seen at a glance on the 2-color display.  The settings of the master pressure switch can be copied to up to 10 slave pressure switches, reducing the setting work, and preventing mistakes in setting.  Other features include: simple 3-step setting, analog output, wide variety of piping variations, and a power-saving function for MPa-kPa.  The ISE40A is also CE, UL/CSA and RoHS compliant.

The ISE80 series is a digital pressure switch designed to measure fluids such as tap water, hydraulic fluid, silicon oil, lubricant, fluorocarbon, argon, ammonia, carbon dioxide, air-containing drainage and nitrogen.  Some of the features include 2-color indication, select from back piping and bottom piping, the addition of 2MPa and -101kPa types, also low leakage type, water hammer protection, easy operation, and standardization of CE, UL/CSA and RoHS compliance. 

imageThe ISE70/75(H) series pressure switches incorporate a large digital display to monitor both coolant and hydraulic fluids. These high performance, yet lightweight, pressure controls are available in three styles: the ISE70 for use with air or inert and incombustible gases (monitoring a set rated pressure range between –0.1 to 1MPa), and the ISE75 and ISE75H models (for use with fluids requiring a set rated pressure of up to 10MPa and 15MPa respectively). Available with Rc, NPT or G1/4 port thread options, and with fixed or selectable MPa or PSI pressure indications, these switches conform to both CE and UL/CSA global accreditations and IP67 enclosure ratings.

Series PSE digital pressure switches allow pressure to be controlled from a remote location.  Series PSE510 is compact and lightweight, allowing the sensor to be mounted where needed. The use of stainless steel for all wetted parts (SUS630 for diaphragm, SUS304 for fitting) allows the PSE520 pressure sensor to be used in a wide variety of gas and fluid applications.

SMC's IS10 pressure switch is 16% lighter, and 11% smaller when compared to the IS1000.  The IS10 is RoHS compliant and CE marked.  Set pressure range is 0.1 to 0.4MPa (optional 0.1 to 0.6 MPa).  Also available are the IS10M (pressure switch with spacer) and the IS10E (pressure switch with piping adapter).

Pneumatic pressure switch series IS3000 can be used for small electrical loads of 10mA such as relays and programmable controllers. IS3000 has a high frequency operation of 1 cycle/sec and a long life of 10 million cycles due to piston construction. Calibration ranges from 0.1 to 0.7 MPa.

The ISA series is a non-contact style air catch sensor for applications requiring confirmation of work present for machining operations. Due to the construction of the sensor, fluctuations in the supply pressure does not influence operations. The ISA series is IP66 rated and is dust proof and drip proof.

The ISE1 series is a compact, positive pressure switch available in a single setting with hysteresis adjustment, a double setting/double output type or an analog output type with hysteresis adjustment. The ISE1 is lightweight and the optional plug-in connector makes wiring easy and simple.

The ISE2 series is a compact, pressure switch (for positive pressure) and can be integrated with ZX or ZR vacuum systems. The ISE2 series pressure switch has a quick response time of 10mS and the plug connector option makes wiring easy and simple.

The ISE3 series is a digital pressure switch (for positive pressure) with LCD readout for general pneumatics purposes. The ISE3 digital pressure switch allows the calibration of two independent outputs. Modular version can be integrated with ZX system.

ISG general purpose switch is widely used in machine tool, industrial machines, compressors, chemical plants, power plants, machineries for ships, and for automatic pressure control such as hydraulic, water, liquid and atmospheric pressure.

The air checker, PS1 series, electronic pressure switch is available for positive pressure and for vacuum. PS1 is extremely compact and lightweight. Dimensions are 13W X 10H X 30L (mm) for standard type without connection part. A 2-wire switch is applicable to either NPN or PNP output.  The plug-in reducer port for one-touch fittings makes the PS1 series easy to mount, and the large LED display provides a highly visible switch. 

Vacuum Flow Switches

Vacuum Flow switches are widely used for automatic vacuum control for air and inert gases. SMC vacuum flow switches can be used for small electrical loads such as relays and programmable controllers. Other vacuum flow switch features include easy electrical wiring, wide calibration range, high frequency operation and long life.

Series ZSE30A is a high-precision, 2-color display digital pressure switch for vacuum. It has raised rubber button controls that are clearly set apart, simple to operate and soft to the touch. Plug in type connectors take the burden out of wiring work and maintenance. Four different display settings are available.

The ZSM1 series diaphragm type vacuum switch is available in a solid state non-contact or a reed type design. The ZSM1 has a response time of 100 ms. It is lightweight, compact and has a long life. The ZSM1 has a standard shield plate that prevents external interference.

Flow Switches

The SMC series of flow switches are applicable with a wide range of fluids including water, deionized water, and wetted metal parts materials such as copper, alloy, and stainless steel. Some features across the series include integrated flow adjustment valve and temperature sensor, 3 color display, and optional compact sizes.

SMC's PFM dual color digital flow switch was developed initially to detect microchip component adsorption in vacuum, and early clogging in both filter and nozzle applications.  The series is incredibly compact and lightweight compared to existing flow sensors.  The PFM is available in four maximum flow rate options 10, 25, 50 and 100 L/min, and is suitable for use with air, nitrogen, argon or carbon dioxide.

SMC offers a variety of digital flow switches. Series PF2A for air, PF2W for water, PF2D for deionized water and chemicals. Flow rate setting and monitoring are possible with the digital display. Integrated and remote type displays are available for different types of application. Water resistant construction is used conforming to IP65 protection. Switching from real-time flow rate to accumulated flow is possible.

Series PF3W digital flow switch is perfect for applications requiring a constantly monitored flow of cooling or cleaning water. The PF3W series has been improved both in design and operating performance over the PF2W flow switch.  Depending on the selected model, the PF3W is up to 40% smaller in volume, offering improved piping space and flexibility.  Designed to work with fluids up to 90ºC, these switches incorporate a built-in temperature sensor so both flow and fluid temperature can be effectively monitored at the same time.  Further improvements include the addition of 2 screens, incorporating 3-color numerical displays which can also be rotated in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions, thereby offering even better display visibility during operation.  Available as non-grease type and with analogue output if required, the PF3W meets IP 65 enclosure protection standards and is both RoHS and CE compliant.

SMC's new InfiniFlow™ ultrasonic flow sensing technology incorporates a cutting-edge contrapropagating cross-correlation measurement method. This technology is up to 20 times faster than the industry standard "sing-around" method. In addition, the cross-correlation method is much more efficient in data collection and processing, even under adverse conditions with micro-bubbles. The system is an "All-SMC" fully integrated technology. By a simple change on the Windows™ utility screen, you can switch from stand-alone sensor mode to closed-loop mode, and with the addition of the LTV20 hybrid regulator, you will be controlling liquid flow with superior accuracy and repeatability. This is accomplished using the same compact controller for either mode, and there is no "hand-shaking" with a separate PID controller.

IFW series flow switches detect and confirm liquid flow. They are applicable to general industrial machines and various other applications. The IFW series will detect the flow of water and other non-corrosive fluids. The detection range is from 1 to 50 liters per minute. The flow setting can be adjusted with a screwdriver from the outside of the unit without removing the cover.

The paddle style flow switch, series IF3 detects and confirms liquid flow. The series is generally used in fields such as air conditioning, water supply equipment, etc. Enclosures include a standard type for indoor applications away from moisture; drip proof (JIS C0920) which can tolerate water drip in indoor or outdoor applications; and splash proof (JIS C0920) which has a sealed construction that can tolerate hosing or salt laden atmospheres.

Answering the demands for a pressure sensor that would send an output over a wide range where most pressure sensors could not send a signal when adsorbing minute work pieces, SMC has designed the PFMV5 series.  The PFMV5 is a small flow sensor with a rapid response time of less than 5ms.  The PFMV5 series is mountable in a space-saving location since the straight piping length is not required. The PFMV3 voltage monitor for the PFMV5 series can cover a full range of sensors (6 ranges). The sensor connector offers easy connection and removal of wiring.   The dual color display (red and green)allows for visual confirmation of the current condition.

SMC's new PFMB dual color digital flow switch allows for a wide range of flow measurement with one product.  The PFMB is suitable for use with air and nitrogen.  It's compact and space saving with an integrated flow adjustment valve.  The bypass structure limits the contact of moist air with the sensor, reducing degradation of the sensor and helps maintain accuracy.

SMC's LFE electromagnetic digital flow switch is compact and lightweight.  As there are no obstacles or moving parts in the fluid path, the LFE is resistant to clogging.  This design only allows a small pressure loss, and a reduced load to the pump, which saves energy.  A 3-color, 2-screen indicator is used for better visibility.  Instantaneous flow rate is displayed in the upper screen, set values, accumulated flow, peak/bottom value, and line names can be set to display in the lower screen.
