Rotating drums to mix or blend material inside a closed drum saves time, labor and money. Drum rotating mixes drum contents to ensure homogeneity with less hazards.

variable speed drum rollerEach drum rolls on 4 drive and 4 idler wheels. Models are available with various drum rotating speeds.

    • Variable Speed End-Over-End Drum Rollers utilize a variable frequency drive (VFD shown left) to rotate your drum at any speed from 1 to 38 RPM. Select the best speed for each material. Enables you to use high speed for initial mixing, then low speed for prolonged agitation. Variable speed drum rollers are ideal for experimental use or where you need to blend a variety of materials. The VFD includes motor starter and disconnect. Mount the VFD on a wall or on the outside of Safety Enclosure required by OSHA.

    • Models with fixed drum rotating speed of 10, 20 or 30 RPM. The 20 RPM speed is effective for mixing most liquids. Customer supplies motor controls.

Mixing contents inside your sealed drum eliminates the risks of spills and splashing of dangerous contents on workers during transfer, and greatly reduces clean-up, and the risk of contamination. It also eliminates use of special mixing vessels.

  • Option # POLY-1-5154 (shown) for single drum roller
  • Option # POLY-2-5154 for double drum roller

NOTE: You can roll a plastic OR a steel drum with Option # POLY-1-5154 or POLY-2-5154 installed

Enclosure with Safety Interlock for Drum Roller (sold separately)

Install all Morse Rotators in accordance with local requirements for enclosure and safety interlock, etc. One way to accomplish this is with a Morse enclosure with safety interlock, so the rotator automatically turns off when enclosure door is opened. Power connections and motor controls must also comply with applicable local codes.

For OSHA compliance in the USA, see OSHA subpart O.1910.212(a)(4) "Barrels, containers, and drums. Revolving drums, barrels, and containers shall be guarded by an enclosure which is interlocked with the drive mechanism, so that the barrel, drum, or container cannot revolve unless the guard enclosure is in place."
